In order to craft the ultimate Pinot Noir, kusuda wines is located in the wairarapa valley in Martinburough, New Zealand. Absolute care and precision goes into making every vintage, from the hand selecting and hand picking of the grapes, to the delicate methods used in brewing. Kusuda wines has solidly won it`s place as one of the Premiere wines of New Zealand.

Kusuda wines are truly rated among the top ten wines of the new world. With deep savory flavors, and subtle overtones, Kusuda Wines are perfect for both the social drinker, and the connoisseur. As Kusuda Wines is a small winery, and cannot produce a lot of wine, Meishu no Yutaka is honored to be one of the few shops in Japan, and the only shop in Hokkaido, to sell Kusuda wines.

Hiroyuki Kusuda
Born in Tokyo, Japan in 1964. After graduating from university in Japan, he worked for Fujitsu, then the Consulate General of Japan in Sydney. After working in Sydney he decided to follow his dream of making wine. He Studied Oenology and Viticulture at Geisenheim University in Germany, and Immigrated to New Zealand, an area he considered the perfect area to grow Pinot Noir, in 2001. He is now living in Martinborough with wife Reiko, son Kensuke, and daughter Yuria.
